Why CELTA with The London School of English?
The LSE group's association with Cambridge University examinations dates back to 1996 when along with the British Council we initiated the process that led to the country's inaugural FCE & CAE exam session.

In 2002 we were Ukraine's first accredited CELTA centre pioneering a qualification that has since grown both in esteem and acceptance throughout the entire country.

2014 saw the opening of not only Odessa's first permanent CELTA centre but also the region's only Cambridge examination centre based here in our language school; the city's largest.

What are the components of an online CELTA course?
The course components are: input sessions, teaching practice (TP), lesson planning (LP), feedback sessions and written assignments.
What will the online input sessions be like?
The course is 5 weeks long.

Monday to Friday, you will attend practical input sessions online, led by experienced CELTA tutors. We will give you access to our online classroom delivered via Zoom. During these sessions, you will be able to work together, in pairs and small groups and collaborate as if you were in a real classroom. The methods and materials the tutors use in these sessions can be adapted and taken into your own classrooms.
What will the online Teaching Practice (TP) / Lesson planning (LP) / Feedback be like?
At the start of the course, you will be divided into small teaching practice (TP) groups and assigned an experienced tutor to guide you during your teaching practice. You will teach 6 hours in total to groups of between 6 and 12 students on average. You will receive one-to-one support planning your lessons (LP) and your tutor will observe you and give you feedback on the classes you teach. You will also have the opportunity to observe your peers and give them feedback on their classes. All classes will be delivered via our online platform, Zoom, and you will teach a minimum of two levels.
What will I need to write about in the written assignments?
You will complete four written assignments (each 750–1,000 words). These focus on:

  • analysing and responding to adult learner needs
  • analysing language for teaching purposes
  • teaching language skills
  • reflecting on classroom teaching.
